Re: Favorite year and show?
"7/9/95 Soldier Field? Really?? Is it accurate to say that you listen to it for emotional reasons more so than for pure listening pleasure?"
The emotions invoked by this show, and the events that followed, are definitely a factor in revisiting it. I have "touted" the show several times in the past.
"I have always found, to the amazement of many, the 7/9/95 show to be an enjoyable listen.

"I guess it goes without saying the 7/9/95 is not the best Grateful Dead show ever performed. And I know it inspires a lot of negativity among "Deadheads". I've never understood why. Sure it has warts, but what show doesn't. I've never found a "perfect" show. If one exists please post a link. I have to agree with "saintjames", the BMR is touching. 7/9/95 is a show I feel every fan of "the boys" should listen to."
""There are times when the "beat" Jerry voice is right."
I have to say it one more time. The 7/9/95 "Black Muddy River" is a prime example of a time when "the beat Jerry voice" was right...exactly right."
And the So May Roads is a keeper as well
